Volunteer Tutors
have the opportunity to assist in groups and work with a diverse range of students working on everyday
English or number skills.

About volunteering
Volunteers usually work in a small group once a week for two hours during term times. They are expected to prepare work each week which may require up to two hours per week. We ask volunteers to committ themselves to tutoring for one year.
The initial training consists of ten two-hour sessions and covers:
exploring the learning process
different strategies and methods
of learning critical thinking

students
On
completion of the initial training there is also continuous in-service training.
Volunteer, receive ongoing support from their group tutor.

or numeracy
