Childhood Memories

Childhood memories are full of joy,
whether you're a girl or a boy!
Time to play and have some fun –
you can hop, jump, skip and run.

Boys have soldiers, bikes and cars,
play toy fighting and end up with scars,
bruises, cuts and black eyes –
"What a mess", mum sighs.
Girls love dolls and make-up
but most of all they'd love a pup.

They all love to play in the park
until mum shouts it's getting dark.
Then inside for a bath. You can hear them laugh,
playing with bubbles – away with their troubles.
Then comes supper while mum has a cuppa.

Then it's time for bedtime stories –
girls like nice ones, while boys like gories.
Then mum has a peep, good, they're fast asleep.
