When I grew up
, I asked and father why I had no brothers or sisters? They told me that the doctors could not explain to them why I was deaf so they didn't want to have any more children in case they were deaf as well.

My father bought a dog for me. His name was Duke. He was a boxer dog. I was very happy having a dog. He was fun to play with and to have a laugh with but he died seven years ago. I really miss him. I asked my mum if I could have another dog. She said, "No way. There's too many glass doors in this house".

My mum also likes to keep the house really clean. I remember when she used to clean the house with baby wipes. She's a very fussy person. I am happy to live with my mother and father. I love them and they love me too. We are a very happy family.
I am very happy with my life now. I am enjoying my learning as an adult learner. I am learning about all sorts of things, cookery, computing and horticulture. I like meeting lots of people and I've made a lot of good friends through classes. People are all different and interesting to talk to.
