Face the fear and "do it"

My thoughts are rushing up the stairs
My heart's beating, racing, pounding
with fear of the unknown behind the door.
What lies ahead, I am not sure. Hopefully,
it won't be a cruel ship. Tossing and turning.
Let them know it's not a survival of the fittest world in there.
With one step forward, a knock and a yelp,
into the lion's den.
No, not the expected roar, just the anti-climax
of a welcoming smile.

I can't be bothered coming out,
I'm just settled in front of my favourite programme.
Struggling through the wind and after a hard day at work.
But my guilty instincts take control - telling
me it's time for my class.
My futuristic dreams are telling me to take contol and learn.
At least, I've "done it".
