CBAL home

Kim
Once upon a time when I was age twelve we were living in Stratford. One day on Sunday my parents went to the market and then they came back to the house. My dad had his tea then we went to play out in the street. I had washed my hair and left it loose to dry. We were playing around the old car. It was an old Rolls. My brother had a box of matches in his hands. He was lighting them and throwing them at my hair. I said to him stop it. I was upset. Then he said to me look in the petrol tank. He had a stick in his hand then he poked it in the tank. Then he said to me "Is there any petrol in the tank? I said to him "I don't know?'. Then I went off around the car and then we heard a big bang and saw lots of coloured lights and black smoke .then we looked around and we saw the car go up in the air and then we couldn't see anything then we ran in the house. Then we saw my brother's face was alight. My other sister was standing at the sink. She saw the flames and she threw water on his face. Then we heard a loud bang and then the people came out of their houses witth their belongings. Then the ambulance came to take my brother to the hospital. We were so upset, so we followed the ambulance on our bikes and then we waited in the waiting room. We couldn't see my brother so we came home. Then the reporter came to talk to us.
