My Holiday
A friend and I came up with the idea of going on holiday to a ski resort in Bulgaria a small resort called Borovets fairly high up in the mountains.
We flew out to Bulgaria from Edinburgh stopping at Humberside to refuel then carried on to Bulgaria airport. On arrival at Bulgaria we were picked up by coach for a two hour journey to Borovets at about eleven fifteen pm Sunday night the nineteen 19th March.
On arrival we were given a small pack lunch and some water, which went down well after travelling for about five hours. In the morning after eight hours sleep we got up and had breakfast in our three star half board hotel and decided to give the resort a once over on foot. Borovets was a small resort consisting mainly of bars, restaurants, and souvenir shops.
Borovets is a ski resort with many slopes for beginners to advanced. I came under beginner, having practiced the technique on our local dry slopes at Hill End Midlothian snow sport centre for a couple of lessons. I thought I would know the basics but on my holiday the lessons I had did not help me in any way, so having failed the skiing I resorted to spending my time in the bars and restaurants drinking and eating whilst soaking up the atmosphere which wasn't that bad all in all and I did enjoy the culture and the people and not forgetting the local brew, fruit brandy. Having spent six nights seven days of this schedule it was time to head for home. So alas Sunday 26th it was time be transferred to the airport for our flight home.
