Deaf awareness day  in a supermarket. Deaf people were teaching hearing people to sign.
This is part of the campaign to have British Sign Language (BSL), recognised as a true language of this country.

It is hoped that events like these will encourage people to learn sign language
and to join in our campaign for equal rights.
